The evolution of camping equipment is simply amazing. Cooking was an extreme sport when done with those old camping stove models. The first of these stoves are, of course, the basic cowboy campfire. If you didn't know what you were doing, you ended up with burnt or slightly raw cooking. Then there was the camping stove fueled by liquid gas. However, it only took one bad and very wet experience for me to learn that you should always bring a tent on a backpacking trip, whether or not you plan to use it.
